Atlab’s interim support enhances Wicotec Kirkebjerg’s payroll operations


Amid rapid growth, Wicotec Kirkebjerg, a national provider of engineering contractors and services, recognised the need for more seamless operations and process initiatives that would support its payroll department.


With heavy workloads, tight deadlines and continuing business growth, the company sought a flexible solution to streamline its payroll processes, enhance efficiency, and support the payroll team with compliance and salary payouts.

The context

Boasting a workforce of 1500 employees and an annual turnover exceeding DKK 2.5 billion, Wicotec Kirkebjerg had its work cut out for them with the implementation of a new time registration system. If not done correctly, this would lead to discrepancies across the time registration, payroll, and ERP systems.

With an already busy team, Mikael Holmgreen, the payroll manager, reached out to Atlab for support. He wanted to create more transparency between the new systems, by streamlining the payroll process and making sure all regulatory requirements and reporting obligations would be met.

What we did

During this demanding period, Atlab provided support to the team by deploying tailored, skilled resources to address the specifics of their day-to-day challenges. With a plug-and-play approach, we seamlessly integrated into the payroll team, working with systems, processes and data analysis. Our role later expanded beyond task execution to interpreting regulations, implementing new agreements, and refining setups across the payroll domain.

Consequently, more sustainable solutions emerged, enabling the team to better manage peaking workloads instead of constantly battling fires.
